Cheese Fondue Ingredients

  • 16 oz Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 12 oz Swiss Cheese, grated
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, cut in half
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • dash of paprika

Cheese Fondue Instructions

  1. Rub the cut side of garlic cloves over the inside of the fondue pot or cooking pot, spreading the natural garlic oil over the surface.
  2. Mix chicken broth and corn starch in pot and stir until dissolved.
  3. Gently heat broth.
  4. Shred cheeses. Note: don’t use pre-shredded cheese as it contains additives and won’t melt as smoothly.
  5. Add cheese to hot broth one cup at a time, stirring until completely melted and smooth before adding the next cup.
  6. Add lemon juice for texture and spices for classic Switzerland fondue flavor.
  7. If necessary, transfer cheese mixture to slow cooker or tabletop heater to serve.
